CREATIVE
The designer’s heart. We use fundamental art skills like composition and typography to craft beautiful and unique visuals.
SHAPEALIVE
BIG ENERGY
This creative coding project originated from the GAD23867 Coding for Graphic Design course at the Department of Digital Graphic Design, School of Digital Media, Sripatum University (SPU). It all started with a simple intention: we wanted design students to “play” and have fun expanding the boundaries of graphic design through technology.
In an era of rapid technological and AI advancement, these tools aren’t here to replace us—they are here to break down the traditional barriers of creative blocks. Integrating “coding” into graphic design unlocks a new level of creative potential. What begins as a standard graphic on a screen is transformed into interactive media that actively responds to people. We then scaled this up into an immersive projection mapping experience, enveloping the audience in vibrant colors and light to create something truly breathtaking.
Here, students enter an experimental playground. They freely test, iterate, and expand on their ideas. They discover the joy of creating interactive art, crafting compelling visual narratives, and working together to breathe life into the static forms under the concept of “SHAPE ALIVE”.
Finally, the Department of Digital Graphic Design would like to express our deepest gratitude to the students, faculty members, and project advisors for their incredible energy and dedication. We learned, experimented (and maybe battled a few lines of buggy code) together. This project is more than just a showcase: it is a milestone that proves when creativity meets technology, the possibilities are truly endless.
The designer’s heart. We use fundamental art skills like composition and typography to craft beautiful and unique visuals.
The smart catalyst. It breaks technical limits and turns complex ideas into reality, so we never have to start from scratch.
The engine of life. We use tools like p5.js and JavaScript to turn static graphics into moving, interactive experiences.
